The Traffic Strategies to Succeed

Expert Author Jacob Ben Ami

To start off, I want to talk about the concept of an "authority website". What is an authority website? For me, it us an website that gets a lot of Google love. How would you know Google fancies one website or another? The answer is simple... Does the website get new content every day? Oh, good... Do the new pages get ranked first page of Google with nothing as backlinks except internal website links? Yes?... well than that is some love right there.

I know a lot of good examples of authority websites and I am sure you already know a couple of good examples. Let's take EzineArticles for instance. You submit a new article. Your article pops up in search results in a matter of hours or one day than it goes away. Why is that? First off, when you submit a new article, it has the advantage of having a backlink from the category and subcategory listings (that have high trust and some decent PageRank) and there are a lot of backlinks from "recently submitted articles" section that you can notice at the bottom of every ezine article.

Of course, new articles come in every day (especially in competitive categories) and your article will be pushed down in category listings and go away from recently submitted. that is why you will experience high Google rankings from the get-go and a sudden drop soon after. The reason why I brought this up is because I want you to think and have an open mind about starting your own authority website. It has a lot to do with quantity and quality in both links and content.

In other words you need to create a lot of content (useful, unique content) and build a lot of links around your content (a lot of links from sites that Google already loves) The single most important rule when it comes to backlinks: Understand and copy the success of other websites in your niche (in particular) and authority websites (in general).

Copying the success of authority websites - Think a little about YouTube, Squidoo, Blogspot and all the rest. The power behind these mammoths is the content syndication. And by that I do not really mean having an RSS feed( although you should have at least one). People love the content so much that they are really sharing the content with the rest of the world using all the possible channels and doing actually promotional work for those websites, just because they like them so much.
