The Top 3 Internet Marketing Methods

Marketing on the internet takes many forms. Therefore, a site such as eBay offers different types of goods, including clothes, coins, stamps, gadgets, jewelry, etc. Customers can check the prices, order the product that they want, pay through credit cards, or other modes as the seller may have specified. Sellers are classified based on customer's satisfaction with their products and services. Therefore preferred parties get more orders.

The other method common for Internet marketing is having a website, wherein people advertise their goods. Websites have to be made interesting enough to draw people who surf Internet, or who like to spend their time on Internet. Therefore such websites often have good content that is worth reading, or some blogs wherein people can express their opinions. These reading materials prompt people to visit the site and therefore, the attention of visitors goes on the advertisements that are lodged on the sides of the contents or blogs. There can be an network of such sites as well.

The third more popular method would be affiliate marketing. In this, the Internet marketer opens a website. He or she enters into a contract with different sellers for letting many people come to their websites. In other words, such Internet marketer promises traffic to the party that is desirous of selling its products or services. Obviously, each of these parties would have their separate websites or links or banners. These websites are shown to potential clients for a few seconds.

The idea is to get the visitors curious enough about the site during those 10 to 30 seconds. If the visitor becomes adequately interested, he would investigate a bit further and possibly purchase the product or join the service. If not, he loses nothing. In fact such customers stand to gain for visiting these websites. This is because the website owner offers some cents for visiting the websites of his clients. The website owner also offers additional incentives to these potential customers. These include some amounts as referral charges if the customer is able to rope in a few direct referrals. Effectively, the website owner manages to extract services of these visitors as agents.

These first visitors then go ahead trying to recruit referrals. If they get active referrals, then of course, they gain. But if their referrals were not active enough, then the gains would be lower. Apart from this, the potential clients also get a chance to upgrade and get into a higher membership level. Here, if they have adequate number of active referrals, they can almost double their investment within a year.

The only drawback is that as of now there is no regulatory authority monitoring this form of Internet marketing. Therefore, some unreliable people also open such sites. They cheat the potential customers by taking monies from them for upgrade and never really pay them after that.
