The Three Main Types of Golf Drivers
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

There are a number of factors that one needs to think about when it comes time to buy a brand new golf driver. The fact is that any driver won't do. The key factors that you need to consider include the material that the driver's head is constructed from, the weight, the shaft and the shape of the head.

When your grandfather played golf, a driver was actually called a "wood". This was because the driver's head was made from wood. Today however, a modern driver will be made from either steel, titanium or a combination of both. The material that the driver is made from will determine how it performs.

The most inexpensive golf drivers will be made from steel. They weigh the most and can therefore be difficult to swing for players who lack strength. A steel driver will have a traditional shaped head and will make a pleasing metallic sound when you strike the ball. Due to the weight, the head will be smaller than other types of clubs. They will hit the ball will a solid impact.

In contrast to steel golf drivers, a titanium driver will be much more costly to buy. They are considered to be superior to steel drivers in almost every way. Titanium golf clubs are the lighter than steel and can therefore be swung much faster leading to more ball speed and a longer driver. Most titanium drivers are constructed to be forgiving for the player and can ensure that off center shots go just as far as on center shots.

Composite drivers are combine titanium with some other non-metallic material. This combination of materials enables the center of gravity to be positioned closer to the face for a much larger sweet spot. Of all the types of drivers that are available a titanium driver are thought to be the best.

Top Golf Drivers is dedicated to the very best golf drivers and can help you find bargains on drivers like the callaway ft-9.
