What is a good relationship with your sisters?
Having two sisters, I have learned they are valuable friends. As we grow up, the relationship we have with our siblings may be one of the longest relationships we have in life. It is because we know the true history of their lives to that we can connect so strongly.
I believe that sisters share a bond that goes far deeper than any other. Women are more emotional than men, as a rule. The idea of having someone to talk to and vent to is invaluable. When we feel we can trust our sisters, we tell them things that would not be told unless that trust is there. This allows us to unload and keep some real sanity about us.
It is amazing how much fun sisters can have. We laugh until we cry about a family joke. Yet, another won't find it funny at all. Sisters can be together and speak very little but still know what the other is thinking. The bond with sisters usually starts when they play house and continues when they keep house and raise families. It sees the good and the bad. Sisters can laugh and cry without having to explain why.
My sisters will call and we can talk for an hour and a half and when another asks what we talk about we can't really say. It isn't that it really matters what is said it is just knowing they are OK Sharing what happened last week, and remember what happened when we were going to high school, can both be spoken. We don't have to apologize for not using the correct English, or laughing when we shouldn't.
As time goes on, I have found my sisters to be two of my closes friends. A sister can be in the next room or several continents away, but still be close. Laughing and sharing the good and the bad, makes the bond stronger.
My wish is for all sisters to get along and forget the bad, but find the good. Don't compare but share. Grow closer even if you are farther apart. Be the girls who people set as examples for their children.
