Why is the Philippines call center industry growing at such a fast rate? There are several factors that contribute to this. Almost all businesses need a good customer service arm. However, the rising costs of labor are becoming a very big problem for both big and small manufacturing companies and service providers. Information technology, on the other hand, has developed so much so that this customer service arm does not have to be done onshore. Offshore outsourcing is so much more viable than onshore solutions right now.

Since the Philippines was formerly an American colony, the people are naturally attuned to American culture. In India, agents cannot fully remove their Indian accents. Also, they practice British English. Thus, their accents and cultural mindset is primarily British as well (being a former British Colony.

The Philippines call center industry provides top notch services. There are so many: customer contact services, inbound customer service, search engine optimization, outbound telemarketing, finance and accounting, legal transcription, medical transcription, logistics management, administration support, technical trouble shooting and support, training for language development, and HR management just to name a few. Since English is a second language taught in the country starting from nursery up to high school, the quality of the service in the Philippines is unquestionably high.

Along with new developments in VOIP technologies, the Philippines call center industry is sought after by companies in the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia. A typical medium or small sized offshore outsourcing contact center company in the Philippines will be comprised of a hundred to five hundred agents on call. The major call centers on the other hand, will have from a thousand to five thousand agents in various locations within the archipelago. Major call center institutions have popped up in major Philippine cities. There are business process outsourcing offices in Lagazpi City, Dumaguete, Cebu City, Manila, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Alabang, Makati, Bacolod, Davao, Angles, Baguio, Bacolod, and more.
