Nowadays, you don't know who to trust. You could be out on a date with Hannibal Lector's brother from Long Island and not even know it. You thought he had a great smile, or beautiful blue eyes. Background checks are an excellent way to find out the dirt on someone you know or just met.
Maybe you don't have good dating radar and keep winding up with the wrong person. Does your significant other not keep eye contact with you? Are they always clasping their hands when they talk? It could mean they are hiding something from you. It could be a marriage, or the fact that he was a sex offender. Possibly he may have 150 parking tickets ... on your car! You just never know until it's too late.
We were best friends in high school. Not typical girly girls, but we had great conversation, and lots of great memories. But we lost touch after we graduated. It meant the world to find her again. Trying to track down an old friend or family member can be awfully difficult. Our world wide web is great but it doesn't disclose everything pertinent unless the person you're looking for has a MySpace page. If you're looking for someone who hasn't kept up with technology and believe me there are lots of people out there that still don't own a computer, than your search comes up with absolutely nothing.
First you enter a name, then some personal information and all you get is some generic information. If you didn't keep up with them after their third move, you may never find them again. Federal back ground checks can search all types of databases to pull email addresses, phone numbers, marriage certificates, birth and death certificates, tax liens, divorce records, convictions, and bankruptcy.
With our economy laying off hundreds of people each day, you might be trying to start your own small business. In which case it's important for you to have trust worthy people working for you. You can require that they agree to a background check to help you in making your decision. It's a great idea to be able to verify their information on the application.
Be sure to check out the company you select for the background check. There are a lot that don't update their information that often so you could be looking at information from five years ago. It's a possibility that the person may have made some life changes in which you should still consider the information and move forward wisely.
