I know that the average trader uses forex trading indicators.  In fact, I would venture to guess that about 9 out of 10 traders use forex trading indicators. But I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of them aren't having success trading with them.  Heck, there are plenty of traders who don't even know what the actual purpose of indicators are.

I believe that most traders are sort of, indoctrinated to think that they HAVE TO trade with indicators.  I was no different when I was first starting out.  For some reason, I felt as though looking at a plain chart was just wrong.  I thought it had to be filled up with every indicator I could get a hold of.

It's a real shame that most traders have this kind of philosophy, because it didn't always use to be like this. It used to be that the traders were the ones who actually had to analyze the markets.  Instead nowadays, traders just say "Ah...my indicators will tell me when to buy or sell".

No  wonder why 95% of traders are losing money. It's because of this kind of mindset.

Let's face facts.  Just about every single indicator that's on your charting platform is 100% lagging.  What this essentially means is that you are basing your trading decisions off of tools that are only telling you what has already happened.  Indicators are not predictive by nature.

If you want to find out what the future holds for the price of a currency pair, you have to first understand price action.
