The Motorola Dext is an Android Handset With a Difference
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

The Motorola Dext is an elegant and impressive mobile phone. Its colourful screen and its overall design merits consideration, when looking into a new handset. The keyboard is an excellent feature which is becoming ever popular, whilst the Android operating system always seems to be a talking point. The handset is quick and efficient at performing the tasks it provides and is a superb example of how effective design can lead the way.

A slide out full QWERTY keyboard resides behind the 3.1 inch TFT capacitive touch screen. It is an excellent keyboard to use. The display screen has a pixel size of 320 x 480 pixels and is able to display 256,000 colours, which means that it has effective colour reproduction. As well as the keyboard, there is also a 5 way navigation key and the MOTOBLUR user interface as its means of accessing the features contained within the handset. An accelerometer and proximity sensors are also provided.

The phone comes with a 5.0 mega pixel camera which operates at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. This means images taken are of excellent quality and are able to be printed out in sufficient quality. To help in taking and keeping track of photos, auto focus is provided as well as the ever popular geo tagging facility. For those who prefer the ability to record video, this handset offers that facility at HVGA quality and at 24 frames per second.

An MP3/MP4 player is the entertainment element of the phone, which also includes a variety of additional features such as a document viewer and voice memo functions. Internal memory is 1 Gb which is large enough to store plenty of audio and video files for playing whenever desired. If additional storage is required, the microSD slot offers the opportunity to increase the memory up to 32 Gb.

Connectivity is provided by the multiple connections available which include GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE, Blue tooth and miniUSB, whilst the HSDPA and Wi-Fi connections offers internet access at speeds that make home broadband seem like a snails pace. The GPS function provides the satellite navigation feature, which has become increasingly popular.

The Motorola Dext is an impressive phone which is extremely responsive in its ability to perform tasks via its functions. This may be in part due to the fact that the phone utilises the Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 MHz processor and the Android operating system, which is the version titled Cupcake. It offers an excellent level of sophistication in both its effective and expressive designed casing and its numerous functions which provide the means to do so much whilst on the move.
