The city of Oxford is located in the county of Oxfordshire in South East England. The rivers Thames and Cherwell run through the city and join just south of the center of it. This large city has a population of around 165, 000. Oxford is the location of the oldest university in the English-speaking world; the University of Oxford. Car making is part of the long history of Oxford and the BMW MINI is produced in a suburb of Oxford; Cowley. The regional brewery was known as Morrells, and it was founded in 1743 by a man named Richard Tawney. It didn't gain the Morrell name until the brothers, Mark and James Morrell, became partners and eventually owners. The brewery closed in 1998, though the beer brand names were taken over by another brewery.
Commercial areas are plentiful and so are the number of theaters and cinemas. Shopping and entertainment can be found around every corner.
