I'm a food lover.
And lucky for me, I'm blessed with a superfast metabolism that burns and burns and burns. Couple that with the fact that I work like Lance Armstrong, and I can pretty much eat whatever I want, whenever I want without gaining an ounce.
If you're not this way, then don't worry.
Everybody is blessed with something.
For me that's always been a savvy marketing mind and a supercharged metabolism.
And speaking of marketing, how about we shift gears and talk about something I saw on a milk carton recently that was a brilliant piece of marketing?
Here's the story:
So my wife bought a new brand of milk. And when I asked her why, she said it was some kind of local, organic milk the grocery clerk said we should try.
No problem there.
But what was really interesting about this milk was the carton.
That's because on the side of this carton, there was a very clever marketing ad by a local radio station that announced a piece of BREAKING NEWS. This is what John Caples talked about years ago in his book called Making Ads Pay when he said that nine times out of ten newsworthy headlines pull well.
So anyways, the side of this milk carton went something like this:
BREAKING NEWS:
Local Radio Station Gives Away $10,000 If You Can Answer This Question on (DATE)!
And then, below the ad was a question they were going to ask sometime on the date stamped on the milk carton. And whoever answered it first won $10,000 smacker-roos.
Pretty cool, wouldn't you say?
This ad gets attention since it contains the words "breaking news".
It also has a clear and irresistible call to action.
Plus, it's something you can't miss every morning when you add milk to your morning coffee.
So there you have it.
A clever marketing campaign I discovered on the side of a milk carton.
And one last thing:
If you are serious about growing your business, then more than likely all you need is one good idea. But you have to be careful where you look for ideas because now days it seems like everybody and their brother claims to be some kind of "business expert".
So ask yourself this:
Where can you turn for more good ideas like what's in this article?
