The only way to have a happy life is to have a balanced one. How you achieve a balanced life is how you groom your mindset to be. It is important that you developed a positive mindset no matter where you are in life at the moment. If you're always thinking about things such as the lack of money, lack of the relationship or even if you believe your house is not nice or big enough to keep up with the Jone's, then all you're doing is setting yourself back in life.
When you only think of negative things on a day-to-day level, you start to bring those unwanted events into your life. It's funny how in life, we tend to attract the things we don't want more often than not. This in itself is a clue on how you should lead your life.
What you should do is stop comparing your life with other people's lives and start living your own starting today. Even if you do achieve say the financial wealth that your friends or someone you know has, you will surely come across someone else who is even richer. There will always be a bigger house or a nicer car to attain. Do you see how this can really mess with one's mind? It will make you feel like you can never reach your goals, but if you stop and look, you would realize that you have already achieved more than you think.
So how can you break out of this unhealthy mental state? It is not so hard really. Start immediately by thinking about the positive things that have happened to you. Be thankful for the things you have right now and that people whom you share company with. People such as your close friends and family that love you for who you are.
Many self-help guides constantly harp on about how positive thinking is crucial to attaining your goals. There is nothing else further from the truth. When you're excited and when you're happy, you tend to achieve more because you become more energetic, and a lot more productive than if you were to be depressed all the time.
If you look at life this way, it will be easier for you to understand how this great universe works and that when something good or bad happens, it is generally triggered by our outlook on life. It is more than likely that a streak of "bad luck" is caused by our self-destructive mentality than anything else.
Change your life today by doing the following. Get a piece of paper and jot down the top five things that you can be grateful for. It can be anything from winning a contest, getting that long awaited promotion from your boss, or even having a family that's all in good health. Read this to yourself daily in the morning and before you go to bed, for one week. After that add one extra point to the list once a week and in time you will see a gradual shift in your attitude towards life.
