Becoming successful at internet marketing takes hard work and intense focus. It is a well-known fact that a whopping 95% of people who start an online business will fail in their first year. The 5% who actually succeed, usually do it by promoting a business, service or product online, which is known as internet marketing.

Today's internet marketers are bombarded with an over load of marketing ideas daily, be it in the form of incoming emails or ad copy posted everywhere they turn. Many lose track of their primary marketing goal by allowing themselves to be distracted. This distraction and lack of focus is a major cause of failure for entrepreneurs starting new online businesses.

Ultimately, marketing plans are vital to our online success. A marketer's focus however, should only be on one marketing plan at a time. The idea is to pick a marketing plan and focus one's effort solely towards it. Once the plan is worked thoroughly to the point of success, then and only then should one move on to another. Some plans unfortunately may not bring the desired results and abandonment may be the best option. Successful internet marketers stick with one plan or idea at a time and do not stray until they feel they have done everything possible to achieve the desired results.

Within a marketing plan or goal, there are many different tasks the marketer must perform. Each individual accomplished task then comes together to form that marketing plan. While the plan as a whole deserves complete focus, so do the individual tasks. One must focus solely on accomplishing the first task before moving on to the next. An example is, affiliate marketing. An affiliate must first focus his efforts on niche research before attempting to choose the products he promotes. There are many steps involved in this process and he will focus on and perform them one at a time until he accomplishes them all.

The results obtained from focusing on these individual tasks until each is accomplished will far outweigh results he will get from blindly jumping in and promoting a product that he has done zero research on. It will ultimately mean his success or failure.

Thus the difference between becoming an ordinary internet marketer and a successful one depends on implementing focus into all of one's marketing efforts. As a successful marketer does, one will see all marketing ideas and plans through to their end result while remaining focused during the process.
