The Importance of Setting Realistic Goals When Building Your Online Business

Goals. Get clear on your goals. Why? Because you need to know what it is that you want in the future. Focus on educating yourself on the necessary skills you have to learn to become the expert in your chosen niche. You might be new to this internet game and that's OK but it is no walk in the park. Setting goals depends on your ability to have discipline in each area of your life and to turn bad habits into good habits.

Every day you should have a list of tasks that you will perform towards getting to your first goal/s. So let's say that you want to earn $100k per year online right, how are you going to get to that amount? What types of action will you take to get yourself up to that amount? What is your reason for that amount? What goals will you set to take you up to that amount? Why do you want that kind of money?

You see you need to know all of this in order to begin putting together a plan to reach your goals. So you have to break them down into realistic and measurable goals so you can actually get there and not be disappointed.

Personally I choose to work on a daily worksheet of operation and then set monthly goals for my income and how I am going to get there. Work back from the end of the goal to today. Realise that you can and will get there if you start to take action and implement what you do know, and what you don't know you get help from a coach or mentor.

Every great person that has achieved greatness has had a mentor or a group of people who are usually more intelligent than them to help them get to where they need to be, I know I do. You cannot possibly achieve the kind of income you require unless you get outside guidance. Setting goals therefore should encompass finding successful people who are already doing what you want to do and call them or meet them.

Do what you have to in order to take yourself to the next level. Time goes so quickly and this time next year you could be asking yourself the same set of questions. That would not be wise because this time next year you could wealthier just by taking the action required. Start now by researching people that you want to be like and set a goal to become like that. Study what they do and act upon the advice they give.

>Remember that you have to set realistic and measurable goals so start small and then increase your goals as you hit them. Look at your goals every day and you will want to write down a vision statement as well. This is where you write down everything you want out of life and write in sentences that you have already achieved those goals so for example write " I own a Ferrari 360 and the date is 2015!" Get the idea? Write them all down and look at them every morning and every night without fail. As you begin to visualise your dream lifestyle you can get to work on your smaller goals right away that will eventually lead you to your ultimate goal or vision statement.
