The History of Tetris

The game of Tetris is among the leading and most characteristic video game franchises and brands all over the globe. It is internationally well-liked by individuals of all cultures and all ages, Tetris goes on to be one of the most broadly known video games ever recorded. Ever since its creation twenty-five years ago, over 125 million Tetris merchandise have been marketed and that amount is still increasing until now.

In June of year 1984, Alexey Pajitnov made Tetris in his free time whilst working for Moscow Academy of Sciences. Out of Pjitnov's adoration of gaming and puzzles, Tetris reformed puzzle games with unique falling pieces which players could put together in actual time along the base of a rectangular playing ground or matrix to clear out the lines.

After four years, video game publisher and designer Henk Rogers found Tetris at a trade show in Las Vegas. Convinced that Tetris was going to become a big hit, he went to Moscow after a year in order to protect Tetris' hand-held rights and then discussed a deal with Nintendo in order to launch the game on Game Boy. In year 1989, Game Boy was launched with an included Tetris cartridge. The Tetris version of Game Boy went on to shatter previous gender and age barriers and made an international trend selling over 35 million copies all over the world. Tetris is being played in over fifty countries and translated into over fifty languages. It has also been launched on more than thirty platforms.
