The Hardest Part of Starting an Online Business

Everyone has the ability to become a entrepreneur. Not many people like having a boss or someone telling them what to do; so what is stopping people from successfully creating an online business?

While I was working in a corporation, as much as I did not like it, the one thing that kept me coming back was a paycheck. Paychecks are safe because you know at the end of the week it will be in your mailbox whether you did a good job or not. It is with that knowledge of a paycheck at the end of the week that makes it hard to liberate yourself from a job that is just not for you. Even if you did quite, most likely you will just have to find another job. You hope that it will be the one but it never is.

So what is the deal with all these fast easy ways to make money online, which bombard us everyday? Is it possible to stay home and work while getting paid? I know the second of this is true but fast easy money online does not happen in this day and age. Most people will not tell you this but as an entrepreneur, I have found that making a real residual income online takes a lot of work.

So I ask, what is the hardest part about starting an online business, trying to do everything at once! Once you choose to start an online business there are many hurdle that must be overcome. Most people try to jump over all of them in one jump which causes them to fall flat on their face. Instead, try jumping one at a time. Once you take a step back, make some goals for your business in both the long and short term. Seriously think about what you want to accomplish and when you want each goal to be completed. The when is especially important because once that time comes you can evaluate and measure your success and short comings. When you reach this point consider these 3 things. Did I achieve my goal? Was my goal reasonable? Did I allocate enough or too little time to achieve my goal? True success comes from doing one thing correctly and not doing a little bit of everything wrong.

If you did not achieve your goal do not dwell on it, instead use it to learn from next time. I am one of those people who struggle with assessing myself because I feel I will remember my goal. The problem with this is that you get stuck in a plateau because you do not have something physical to look at. As humans, we need to always strive to do something better and being able to look at a goal gives you something to achieve. Once I started making small goals I noticed that my productivity increased three fold. I had something to beat and beating your goal feels good. As an entrepreneur, losing means losing money and time.

The Key to a successful online business is not the products you sell or the hours you spend working but the quality of time you spend towards your goals. You must focus in spite of all the distractions. Once you start achieving your short term goals you will truly realize your long term ones as well.

I am an online entrepreneur and if you want to escape your corporate nightmare check out my primary business. Keep yourself open to the possibility of what could be not what is stopping you.
