Has anyone heard anything about some big bailout lately? You know, something about helping the big boys out of the problems they have created.
You know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about dumping a big bunch of cash, which we don't have, into a failing business in hopes of reviving our slumping economy. I'm talking about the CEO's and big wheels receiving bonuses in the high million dollar figures for their courageous part in screwing up their own company.
Our president has given all that money, several times, to those good old boys in an effort to turn the economy around the other way. Then he has given to the common man and woman a stimulus check of two or three hundred dollars and said go forth and spend.
Spend that little stimulus check on something that will help boost the economic situation. Spend the stimulus check to bail out some of the failing businesses.
WHOA, I thought that was what the original bail out was for. Boy, I guess I was wrong. But it didn't work anyway. We, the common people cannot undo the mess created by the intelligent CEO's. Not by ourselves.
Think about it, who really benefits from the stimulus check? I didn't. I got a check and it didn't make one iota of a difference in my lifestyle. I got a second check and it changed my lifestyle just as much as the first one did, none at all.
I don't know if you noticed it, but after the Insurance company received their bailout money the cost of our insurance went up. The same thing happened to the auto industry. After the bailout the cost of cars also went up.
If that is what is to be expected then I personally don't want to see another bailout. And my stimulus check can't cover the increases. When the big boys raise their prices it effects everyone.
Transportation costs must go up to cover their insurance and fuel expense. That means food outlets must raise the cost of food and every other thing we use also has to go up to survive. Everything goes up except our income.
I think it is time for our President to consider the people on the bottom of the totem pole. What we need is what happened several years back. Back at a time when the country was under the control of a President. Not as it is now with a President under the control of big business and congress.
Years ago when the cost of everything got out of control we had a few rollbacks and a freeze on the cost of our needed daily items. That is what we need now, rollback to an affordable time and freeze it.
For one, control the increases on insurance. Regulate it. The insurance companies are free to set whatever fees they feel will benefit them.
The medical industry also has a problem when it comes to insurance costs. This is of course, due to law suits. It has gotten ridiculous what people are suing for and the results they are receiving from the suits. Millions of dollars in settlements for some minor problems.
I mean like some absurb woman buys a cup of very hot coffee and sets it between her legs while driving and expects nothing to happen. For that she sues and recieves a multi-million dollar settlement.
In that case there were two stupid people involved, the woman who didn't consider the possible results and the judge who granted her the award.
The Doctors are suffering from very high malpractice suits and therefore have to raise their charges for your care. I agree there are cases where malpractice is justifiable but at what price?
While we are on the subject of your health, lets talk about the pharmaceutical industry. In many cases it cost only pennies to manufacture some of the drugs we need but for those penny drugs we are charged many dollars.
The cost of purchasing medication is many, many times that of the cost of producing the medication. Why is that allowed? Why is there no control on that kind inflation and abuse?
Is it not time for the President we, the people, have elected to represent us stand up and account for the abuse to our existence. It is time for him to consider the problems of those who have little money to spend and find themselves in need.
Those people who do not have money to contribute to a Presidential campaign are still the people who make this country what it is. Even though we, the common man, are almost unable to survive, we are still a vital part of the greatest country in the world.
Mr President, give some considerstion to the little people.
