There have been many actors from Australia that have not only enjoyed success as performers in their home country but who have also made the successful crossover into becoming a significant player in Hollywood. Russell Crowe trivia will show that he is among the most successful of these, although it is interesting to note that he was actually born in New Zealand, even though he was raised in Australia. The forty five year old actor began making his mark in Australia through appearing in television programs, notably "Police Rescue", and "Neighbors".

A Russell Crowe quiz lists his first film appearance as being in "The Crossing" although he had for some time already been enjoying some success as a stage actor at that point in his career, appearing in productions such as the "Rocky Horror Show". He would go on to star in several Australian films and begin to build some interest in himself as a performer and begin to make the cross over into working in American films. His first two appearances in American films were in "Virtuosity" which didn't garner much attention, and "The Quick and the Dead" which drew much more with its all star cast including Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Sharon Stone.

It was in 2000 that Russell Crowe trivia begins to start concerning Oscar nominations, as Crowe would suddenly burst onto the scene as one of the most important power players in Hollywood with three back to back nominations for Best Actor at the Academy Awards. He was nominated for his roles in "The Insider", "Gladiator" (which he won), and "A Beautiful Mind". He has appeared in many other Blockbuster films such as "Master and Commander: Far Side of the World" and "American Gangster".

Russell Crowe trivia reveals a man who has both struggled with a temper and aggression, and who has also displayed incredibly kindness at times. There have been some very famous and publicized cases of Crowe's temper in public, such as the incident where he threw a phone at an employee working at a hotel. However, many also ignore the stories of his generosity. While filming in Toronto, he learned that a Jewish School in Montreal had been fire bombed. Crowe donated what some estimate to be over a quarter million dollars to help the school rebuild its library, and also donated generously to a school near where he grew up in Australia.
