The Easy and Lazy Way to Tone Your Abdomen

I think it is every woman's dream to have a toned stomach muscle that can rival Angelina Jolie's. However, with many of us almost glued to our computer desk 8 hours a day, achieving a stomach that won't jiggle as we reach for the next kitkat is nearly impossible.

But let's not despair. There are a few abdominal exercise we can do while sitting at our computer desk. I call them the lazy way of toning the abdomen. Though they are not as good as the abdominal crunches, they will do.

The crunches - The crunch is an easy way of working the abdominal muscle. You can perform this while sitting in front of your computer desk. To do this, keep your back straight with your feet flat on the floor. Then slowly lower your back into the chair while contracting your stomach muscle. Keep contracting your stomach for 30 seconds then repeat. This has a similar effect as the crunch. After doing this exercise, relax your stomach muscle by standing up and walking around your office. You have to relax your stomach muscle to prevent it from having cramps.

The Twist - This is another simple abdominal work out. While sitting on your computer chair, rest your arms on the arm of your chair and twist your body as far as you can towards one side and hold for 30 seconds. Repeat this process on the other side. The Twist stretches tired and tense muscle. This is a great exercise to do after The Crunch.

The Deep Breath - Finally, my favourite is the Deep Breath exercise. This is straight forward and you can do this while reading your e-mail or even while typing. Sit straight on your chair, feet flat on the floor, then take a deep breath filling your lungs, then slowly release. While releasing your breath, contract your abdominal muscle and hold for ten seconds then relax. This exercise does not only work your abdominal muscle, it also releases tension in the body. Do this all through out the day.

If all these don't work, there is always a corset to fall back on.
