When you start a diet, you will most likely lose more weight during the first week of your diet than you will lose in any other week in the future. This is because the first weight that you lose is water weight. What is the difference between water weight and fat weight loss?
When you lose fat, you are actually losing weight that you can keep off with continued exercise and healthy eating. However, when you lose water weight, you are losing weight that will quickly reappear as soon as you replace the water that you lost. It is impossible not to replace this water, because the alternative is dehydration that eventually leads to organ failure if the water is not replaced.
Excess water weight, however, is something that you can keep off, if you stay healthy. Our bodies retain excess fluids for a variety of reasons - either because we have recently been dehydrated, or because we have a health problem or something else is going on with our bodies. Staying healthy is the key to keeping this type of weight off.
Water weight loss is very easy, and can be achieved with a detoxification diet. Fat weight loss takes more work, and better eating choices along with exercise. Obviously, if losing weight and keeping it off is important to you, you want to lose fat, and not water, and this can only be achieved with a good exercise and diet plan. Keep the water, and lose the fat, and when you lose the fat and improve your health, the excess water will go away all by itself.
