If you are an avid outdoorsman, then try to think of this argument. What do you think is the most dependable water vessel, ever to be invented by man? Are they the more complicated and gargantuan ships, which can set sail from different ends of the earth to another? Are they the quick speedboats, which make our hearts stop as soon as they hit full throttle? Are they the expensive catamarans, which have been the toys for millionaires and playboys? Are they the technologically advanced hydrofoils, which glide through the water, rather than float? In truth, the answer is less complicated than we think. The answer lies in age old invention, which has been around for more than four thousand years. These are the sit on kayaks.

These boats were originally developed and used by the indigenous people of the Arctic region, as a means of hunting and travelling through the icy sea water, and rivers of the area. The boats were light and easy to carry, and at the same time tough enough to withstand the raging water. Furthermore, these sit on kayaks assured its passengers the boat would not fill up with water, due to the boat's ingenious cockpit design. The boats were big enough to carry up to two passengers, which sufficiently carried out its purpose. The look of these boats may be different from their ancient ancestors, but the design is basically the same.

Today, there is an assortment of kayaks available in your favorite sports shop. There are kayaks especially designed for rivers, coastal waters, sport, or cruising. It all depends on what you fancy. Get ready to shoot the rapids, go fishing, camping, exploring, and enjoy the great outdoors with the help of these masterfully designed vessels. If early man enjoyed and depended on these sit on kayaks, why can't we?
