When you really listen with the pure desire to understand you will be amazed how fast they will open up and become perceptive to your message. They will listen to you because you gave them your attention first.

When you truly listen, clients feel more at ease and will gladly reveal themselves and their concerns about the product or opportunity.

When you empathetically listen you built the rapport - the foundation for trustful long-term relationship. It makes people feel important when you show them that they matter simply by listening to them.

How to become a good listener:

-Genuinely seek the good of the prospects.

-Put yourself in their shoes.

-Seek to understand and stay positive.

-Stop to control - effective listening offers you options for navigating the conversation.

-Suspend the chatter in your head - you could miss valuable information.

-Master a skill of asking questions.

-Be present, give your full attention and don't let your mind wander.

-Follow your intuition.

-Summarize and mirror back what you heard.

-Keep your own emotions in-check and do not allow yourself to become emotionally involved.

How many times have you been in a conversation with someone and realized that you have not been paying attention? When you disconnect, you break the relationship. Life-long business is relationship based.
