The copperleaf plant will transform your garden into an explosion of color. One look and you'll see why its one of the most beautiful plants you can grow in your garden. The soil PH for the copperleaf should be around 9.1. Once this simple need is met, the plant needs minimal attention.

The copperleaf can grow up to 10 feet in height, and its colorful oval leaves are visually striking. The plant will form small flowers, but they are hard to see behind it foliage. But don't feel as if your missing out on its beautiful blooms, the colorful leaves more than make up for it.

Some varieties have green leaves with a coppery ting; others have a bright crimson margin that will design each leaf. Some species of the copperleaf have larger leaves that are painted with beautiful shades of cream, yellow and red, while others are simply mottled with a lovely red and orange.

The best location for the plant is in full sun, but they will tolerate partially shaded areas. The plant leaves will become more brightly colored with more direct sunlight. If growing the plant indoors allow it access to plenty of sunlight, otherwise the colors won't reach their true potential. If grown in a container a soilless potting mix with good-drainage is a must. Never allow the soil to dry out before watering. Water the copperleaf regularly and mist the leaves several days a week.

The copperleaf will can be found in the South Pacific, Tropical Americas, and Central to South Florida. The plant can be grown year-round in these warm climate areas. The look good as stand alone plants or grown and shaped into hedges.
