The Samsung Genio Touch is a small handset in every way. It is only 103 mm by 56 mm wide and 12 mm thick. It weighs only 90 grams and yet it has a remarkable amount of technology packaged into such a compact unit. With touch screen technology and numerous other functions it is an assured and competent mobile phone that will appeal to the consumer for many reasons.

The camera supplied within the phone is a 2 mega pixel camera which operates at a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. To help in taking effective snap shots the camera comes with smile detection. The resolution of the camera is good enough to take reasonable pictures. Video recording and playback is available on the handset and is recorded at QVGA quality and at 15 frames per second and is viable alternative to still images.

The touch screen is a 2.8 inch TFT capacitive touch screen which offers excellent colour reproduction due to its ability to display 256,000 colours. Additional features included with the screen include smart unlock and the cartoon user interface, which has won wide acclaim for its simplistic and user friendly means of accessing functionality.

As means of entertainment, the phone comes with an MP3/MP4 player and a stereo FM radio with RDS. This offers the option of either listening to downloaded music or video files, of which the handset will play most file types or listen to local or national radio broadcasts.

GPRS, EDGE, Blue tooth and USB are included as means of connectivity within the phone and offers numerous ways of connecting to multiple devices for an array of tasks. File sharing through the Blue tooth connection and synchronisation with a PC are two of the most common tasks performed with these connections.

The Samsung Genio Touch is a relative newcomer to the phone market, having only been released in September 2009. However it is a well crafted and designed mobile that hits the right note. It offers affordable functions encased within a stylish handset.
