The Care For Your Precious Soul

Many times we find ourselves in a situation where things just looked completely hopeless, and we look around to others for help and concern, but instead of getting what we want, we found out that the people we look up to are completely indifferent to our problems. The next thing we do is to ponder about the situation of the world today: why is everyone so selfish? Doesn't anyone care what happens in our lives at all?

You may or may not have felt that way before, but it happens almost to a lot of people everyday. The Psalmist once felt that way and so had to cry to the Lord for help. Though his plaintive cry was not quite accurate, yet, it expressed both great desire and despair. Many times you have looked up and down and then declared that no one cares for you, because you see yourself as one who needs the help of others. Why? You need other people's help to make progress in life.

Throughout your childhood period, you depended on some people for one thing or another. Starting from the time you were conceived from your mother's womb, you were dependent. At delivery, the midwives, nurses and doctors helped to bring you out into the world and dependent on your parents you grew into an adult. You now found out that before you got to adulthood, you never lived independent of any one. You needed people's help to keep living.

As an adult, you also required the help of people, such that you get offended whenever such help is not readily given. The offence is as a result of the fact that God created man with the power to help another. He practically demonstrated this when He saw the man He created completely separated from Him because of sin. God then showed man that without Him no man is worth anything in the world. Remember that man was created and given the power to rule over the earth, yet a common serpent was used to deceive him and got him into trouble with his Maker.

To demonstrate the need of another person, God devised a means of salvation for man - through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. Man was created with the need to have someone care about him and his soul, and so he suffers despair whenever no one cares. There is always the feeling of hopelessness and helplessness whenever this happens! But it is very important to know that someone cares. Let me state it categorically here that no matter who you are, no matter where you are and no matter what you are, someone cares for you.
