The Card That Touches

And no this is not some kind of a monstrous card with hands or some robotic cards of sorts that can actually touch you. Touches here is not pertaining to mobility. It simply means the ability of cards touch your lives and make a difference. The power of cards to melt our hearts and move our souls to become an inspiration to many. Rita is a 26-year-old call center agent. All her life, she is struggling to be understood. Although she belongs in a fairly wealthy family, her parents don't have the luxury of the time to hear her. They don't have much time to spend with Rita all the more talk to her about her plans and aspirations in life. For Rita, all of the material things that her parents gave her is of no value. Ever since she was a little kid, all she craves for is some authentic love, appreciation and attention from her parents. But apparently, she still lacks these. Their house helpers are even acting more like as parents to her. They know the latest happening in her life, her achievements and her frustration. Despite this neglect, her parents still has a tight grip on her life. At 26, she now despises her parents so much and for almost fiver years now she has been rebelling against them.

One day, her parents can't take the rebellion stint any longer and they commanded Rita to leave the call center and she will be going to her aunt in another country! She will be staying there for good. This is the decision of her parents not even considering the life that Rita might be leaving here. Rita was very angry and frustrated! She don't want to go anywhere and she thought that cutting herself would end her misery. But then just when she is about to cut, she saw a card in her drawer. It was from his best friend!

Her best friend is telling him through the card how important she was to his life and how he can't get on with his life without her. Her best friend even recalled some of their happy moments together and all the problems that they went through. Her best friend also wrote how thankful he is to have met her and how her life changed when their friendship started. The card left Rita in tears and she already forgot about the suicide. That card moved her to confront her parents about her feelings, she thought that maybe it would be better if she could also make a card for her parents.

And so she did. She spent the whole night making it and the next day when she arrived from school her mom was surprisingly home and she even prepared her favorite waffles. Her mother hugged her and asked her about her day. Apparently, her mother quit work that day and decided to be a plain housewife.
