The Best Way to Get Quality Customers on Your Website

Expert Author John Burnside

When people first go about trying to make money online they always focus on how their website or blog looks on the face of things. For example where their adverts are placed and what type of adverts they have on their website. Now I'm not saying this isn't important as I have mentioned in previous articles it is important to put these in the right place and you will make sales off of these adverts but if you are planning to make big amounts of money on the internet you have to concentrate on what is known as back door sales. This means sales which aren't made on the front of your website but sales which come from follow up sales or sales off your website.

The best way to get back door sales is through building a high quality e-mailing list for your website. There are a few ways to go about getting customers for this the easiest one being to put a submission box on your website and offer something for free if the person signs up such as a free e-book or a newsletter. Remember that people are not going to sign up to something if they don't get anything out of it so it's good to have something to draw people in. Once you have them on your emailing list you can then send them as many e-mails as you like offering them your products. The beauty part about doing it this way as well is that if you write your own ebook you can sound very generous while actually trying to get something out of the customer. I have read some very cleverly worded ebook's which say that they are giving away this free information out of the kindness of their hearts when actually they have you on their mailing list now and they are promoting an affiliate product in the ebook which I am sure is going to get them lots of money.

That was the easiest way to go about it but not necessarily the best. The best way to go about it is to wow them with your content or product that you have made and then they sign up after or during paying for that product. In this way you know that they know who you are, you know that they have a history of buying your products and they are more likely to open your emails rather than just dismiss them. When using either of these techniques I would recommend using a high quality auto responder from the start of your project because if you have to switch providers half way through then you will have to get them to re-sign up and this isn't likely to happen.
