Dr Edward Bach, the highly qualified medical doctor who discovered or ‘uncovered’ the Bach Flower Remedies came to understand that the real study of pathology was in the analysis of a patient and their particular personality. What worked for one patient did not always cure the same disease in another patient with a different personality type.
Dr Bach developed the 39 Bach Flower Remedies as a direct answer to the prevailing medical practice of viewing the patient as a body with symptoms. His success with homeopathic remedies led to his becoming convinced that a more whole-listic approach to the treatment of people was greatly needed.
He began to realize that standard medical practice (that of one treatment for each disease) was not the answer. He learned another startling fact when he observed that two different people with similar personalities would respond in the same way no matter what their disease was. He found that although two people experienced the same disease, those with similar personalities would respond one way while others with dissimilar personalities needed another form of treatment.
He recognized that personality had a much greater bearing on what course of treatment for a disease was needed than did the body. What was needed, he believed, was a study of the whole person, their personality, their emotions and in particular, negative thought patterns and negative emotions. He decided that he should treat the person and not the disease. This revolutionary idea did not find favor with his medical colleagues despite his very impressive medical and scientific qualifications.
Dr Bach’s philosophy was way ahead of his time. Today we are more familiar with the concepts of quantum physics and vibrational therapy. In recent years, more and more healers, doctors, personal coaches, and teachers are talking about the world being energy and different forms of energy vibrates in different ways. He believed that in order to successfully treat a person you need to be aware of any personality traits, beliefs and emotions that may be holding them back from living a fuller and more rewarding life. You need to be aware of any personal issues that prevent you from experiencing greater joy and peace.
Dr Bach began a search amongst the flowers and trees of the field for remedies to treat these underlying causes of sickness and disease. He was able to sense the energy within the flowers when he touched the morning dew on them. He was able to perceive their hidden restorative effect and developed a method for transferring the energy from the flower or tree into water and then was dispensed in a much diluted form to the patient.
The Bach Flower Remedies don’t treat a disease or the symptoms of a disease. They are not chemicals specifically created to cure a disease. There is no Bach Flower Essence to treat cancer or asthma or any other disease. What they are designed to treat are the underlying negative emotional and mental states that are the very causes of the disease.
An unhappy or depressed person, or a person with underlying anger is generating negative energy. The Bach Flower Remedies are designed to work on these underlying negative energies and uncover and unblock our healing life energy and allow our own self-healing mechanism freedom to heal.
Dr Bach’s system of flower essences are a blessing and a gift to mankind. His insight and courage have given us a wonderful healing modality. The Bach Flower Remedies can be safely taken with other medication without counteracting the effect of either. They are gentle in effect, safe, non-addictive, without any side-effects and no danger of over-dosing. They have a indefinite shelf life, if kept in a dark, cool place, and don’t have a use-by date on them. What a wonderful change that is. I challenge you to research these wonderful remedies and give them an honest try. You won't regret it.
