The art of making and keeping friends may be a long lost art form to many people who are alive today. The reason for this is that it is very easy to become self-focused. When the focus is on us, and not on others, we become our own best friend. This can be a dangerous situation because we do not always tell ourselves what we need to hear. This is especially truthful for those of us who yearn to achieve success in the online marketing world, because we need good advice to obtain great business results. Getting wise advice from a good business friend can help our online company to change something that may be hurting its bottom line.
If your goal is to make friends, you can cultivate very powerful friendships by paying attention to the needs of the other person. This is a great skill to learn since we all like to have our needs met. If you know that someone needs help moving, be the first to offer that person help with the task at hand. They will see that you care about them and the things that they are dealing with at the moment. These selfless types of actions will show the person on the receiving end that they are very important to you as a friend. Our actions indicate what kind of friend we are capable of being.
Another way of making and keeping friends is via the route of serving them for no reason at all. Baking a pie and bringing it to them just because you are trying to be nice is an excellent way to show how much you value their friendship. This happens all too rarely, but can go a very long way when it comes to forging a long lasting friendship. Think about what the person likes and make every effort to give them something that they would be fond of getting. There is no possible way they could honestly dispute this type of gesture.
Once you have a number of friends in your circle of comrades, it is vital to maintain those relationships. This can be done by having weekly breakfasts, lunches, dinners or movie nights. These events give all parties involved something to look forward to each week. They also provide a time to speak about any challenges that any group member is going through in their own close relationships. Having these times on a routine basis will create memories that can be passed down from generation to generation, and teach our own family members the value of making and keeping friends.
If you are struggling in the area of friendship, you can implement the above techniques to both be a friend, and make a friend today! Today is as good a day as any to make some new friends. If you reach out to others, and not focus on having your own needs met, you will find that the needs of everyone get met at the same time. It will be a refreshing experience for you and your new and old friends.
