The Aluminum Christmas Tree - A Classic Beauty From the 1960s That is Very Popular Today Again

My grandparents had an aluminum Christmas tree in the 1960s that I just loved. It seemed strange back then, especially with its rotating color wheel alternately shining red, green, blue, and amber light on it. Well, aluminum Christmas trees are back and fashionable once again, and yes, those rotating color light wheels are available too. And of course they are available in several colors besides just the classic silver/aluminum.

There are plenty of advantages other than the obvious beauty. They are very easy to set up as well as store afterwards, and although you can decorate them however you'd like, some come pre decorated or are decorated sparely, for example with a few red round ornaments. A silver tree with a few red or perhaps green ornaments is just a classic beauty, although tastes should and will differ!

Also an aluminum Christmas tree is economical. Although it may be comparable or more expensive than a natural one, you don't buy a new one each year. My grandparents used the same one for literally decades.

There are no needles to pick up, no watering of the tree, no big fuss is centering the tree as there always is with a natural one, and no excursion to go choose and buy one or hassle in disposing of it after the holidays.

I love natural trees, for some settings. We get one for my kids for example. In my office, an artificial one, for example a 4 foot aluminum one, is perfect. Also for my aging parents who don't have the patience or strength to deal with an often heavy natural tree, an aluminum Christmas tree makes perfect sense.
