As a parent of an adolescent, guiding your child to a proper adulthood really requires great effort, time and patience. Directing them to stick to the morals and values of the society as well as the relationship to it, inculcating to them innovative ideas, goals, standards, and principle that they may use later on in their life as man. These tasks can really be compared to a quest, wherein the delight is always present in the entire journey.
In every victory there is the domination of challenges and part of it are disappointments and failures. Every individual in a journey experience the familiar feeling of being failed and succeeded, which can be fully tasted when the journey ends. As long as the journey carry on, there is constantly a hope to turn loses into triumph, imperfections to strong points.
In this life's journey to teenager's life, every plot of adventure is unique from each other. Parents having two teenagers he/she will have a different guiding experience since every teenagers journey is unique and exclusive. Since each flight of journey is merely lone of its kinds, there are no shortcuts or any mode to make the bumps downy, predict the various challenges coming our way or blow up the landmines from before. Yet, there are definite features of the journey that emerge to be as beautiful as a paradise. And that's makes the journey fun.
Adolescents will usually choose their own way of living, and that is the challenge that a parent usually encounter, since adolescent are usually hard headed when it comes to discipline. Excellent family and home life is also essential in parenting an adolescent it can add to the chances that children will ignore numerous of the downsides of teenage years. Furthermore, the presence of a very loving, affectionate, warm and kind family or parents who shows love and admiration to their child will help in guiding the teenagers to the right path. These will help the child not to do criminal activity, take unlawful drugs and alcohol use, law breaking and other things that would put the child in danger.
Parents who are supportive to their child will realize that the children's journey to adolescent is actually an enjoyable one. Those parents who have a open line of communication with their child, will also realize that fact.
When proper guidance is given to the child, independence in decision making will be seen as well as the development from being an adolescent into young adults. This is a very great reward that a parent can receive in exchange of all the hardships and sacrifices that he/she did.
If adolescence is conceptualized as a quest from childhood to adulthood, parenting adolescents can be called the journey itself.
The stage of adolescent is one of the complicated and confuses stage in life. It is a difficult time for both the teenager and his/her family. The main goal of a teenager during these years is the forming of a unique identity. The individual they want to be. While they form their identity, they will try a variety of personas making it very difficult for a teenager.
We can conclude that adolescent stage is a very difficult stage for an individual, a very confusing one in fact. And as a parent it is one of your duties to help and guide your child through it.
