The 5 Basics of Web 3.0 Internet Marketing

As it seems the world is just catching up with web 2.0, the internet has taken yet another shift. Welcome to the new world of web 3.0.

So, what exactly is it? Overall, Web 3.0 does a number of things. It's based on the way we interact with one another, making things shorter, more truthful, and narrowing down our purpose on the internet. Why? The Internet has taken on new meaning. It's no longer where we go to surf, it's where we go to work.

Here are the 5 basics of Web 3.0 Internet Marketing for the newbies:

1.  Mobile Web 3.0

Let's face it, we are a mobile world flooded with iPhones, androids, and BlackBerrys.  Consider how many of us are using our mobile internet more than our PCs.   By looking at my Compete.com stats, I confirmed it's true.  An increasing number of my web visitors are accessed by mobile phones.   Pretty alarming since I haven't fully optimized my site for mobile access.

2.  Microblogging Web 3.0

Twitter.  Plurk.  Facebook.  What do they have in common?  They are based on a "get straight to the point" story with 140 characters or less.  Needless to say, microblogging is about being blunt and getting the message across clear.

3.  On demand Collaboration in Web 3.0

As more companies go virtual, so do their employees.  It's no wonder on demand collaboration is included in this new wave of marketing.  This includes real time document collaboration, editing documents instantly with your coworkers.  Good examples of this include Google docs and sales force.

4.  Personalization Web 3.0

Remember when we first logged into our email accounts, only to find we were being invaded with ads that seemed to know exactly what we were discussing in our emails?  Once found offensive, consumers have adjusted and are moving toward personalization expectations.  We expect to be greeted by name in our accounts, and have our shopping experiences customized to our preferences.

5.  3D Environments in Web 3.0

As the economy began its rapid decline, we saw more and more companies move virtual....along with their events.  Virtual tradeshows & meetings are cutting costs on travel and meals.

It isn't just the virtual meeting environments that are becoming popular either, interactive 3D video games such as Vanguard are all the rage among the next generation.
