The 10 Simple Marketing Commandments For Success

The great Mahatma Gandhi in 1934 wrote a very famous poem on marketing that reads:.

The Customer

A customer is the most important visitor on our premises
He is not dependent on us, we are dependent on him
He is not an interruption on our work
He is not an outsider on our business; he is a part of it
We are not doing him a favor by serving him
He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so

From this poem, I got inspired to write 10 very simple marketing commandments that every entrepreneur should inscribe on his heart.

Commandment One: Get the Right Market i.e. perform market research first before you do anything

Commandment Two: Offer a simple solution to a specific problem

Commandment Three: Appeal to the number one psychological need of humans- their greed. Give them something for free.

Commandment Four: Set yourself apart from the competition in unique ways

Commandment Five: Have integrity that is credible.Without it, you are worthless.

Commandment Six: Focus on attaining hardcore results, not fancy jingles or campaigns

Commandment Seven: Understand that all buying decisions are not logical but emotional.

Commandment Eight: Be the number one person your customer thinks of in your market niche.

Commandment Nine: Do not speak ill of your competition to your customer; you will only drive him there.

Commandment Ten: Always remember your customer is king, so treat like one. Without him you have no business.

If you don't know how to market your business, these 10 commandments are your marketing recipe for entrepreneurial success.
