Television Viewing As We Know It Is Coming To An End
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Many of you may have already heard of the changes that will soon be taking place with every household's television viewing, but you may not really understand exactly what it entails. Others, who do not particularly care for "change", have more than likely ignored it, assuming it is just a bunch of talk, and a change of this magnitude will never happen in their lifetime. However, television viewing, as we know it IS coming to an end, and it is not something that anyone will be able to just ignore as nonsense.

As of now, the American television viewing capabilities is in the middle of this transition, with some individuals having the digital format capability and the remaining having the analog format. Before we know it however, this is going to completely change. Not just a few people will feel the affect, but everyone will be affected by this change.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has ordered that all full-power television viewing, be digitally broadcasted by February 17, 2009. Because of this order, all new television sets being manufactured as of March 1, 2007 are to include the HD TV tuner - or digital tuner, for broadcasting.

So simply stated, this will mean that by February of 2009, no-one will be able to watch their normal "free" television programming that they are so accustomed to, on a regular analog television set. You will either need to get a converter box and have it hooked up, or you will need to join millions of other people who are already enjoying the benefits and advantages of installing satellite television through DirecTV.

If you currently have an older model television set, and you wait too long to do anything about this transition that will be coming in 2009, what will ultimately happen, is you will end up being without a way to watch television at all, because you will be completely without any form of television reception. The newer models already come equipped to be able to receive digital transmission, so those having newer sets will not suffer any interruption in having television programming.

Over the next eleven (11) months, many cable companies, as well as companies offering satellite programming, such as DirecTV will more than likely see a large impact on their subscriptions, as the remaining customers make the necessary switch that will put analog viewing as a thing of the past.
