In this article I want to show you how "Sloppy success is always better than perfect mediocrity." Does that make sense?
Dan Sullivan of Strategic Coach often says: "Choose progress, not perfection." I encourage you to take Dan's advice in the New Year and beyond and read and take action on this article, so you too can become more productive faster, better and with less overall human effort.
What I see so many of my students and other online entrepreneurs do is get so caught up in trying to get everything perfect that they never get anything done!
I'm going to share with you a very important quote from world class coach Keith Cunningham:
"Ordinary things consistently done product extraordinary results."
If you want extraordinary results, step out of the need for perfectionism and do ordinary things consistently. Send that email, write that article, approach someone about a joint venture, read to your kids, take a walk.
Ordinary things consistently done over time began to stack up and produce a cascading effect of tremendous results. Take article marketing, for instance. Each article that you write and publish on places like EzineArticles stacks on top of all your other articles and increases the volume of your articles. And as my good friend and colleague Jeff Herring says "The greater your article volume, the greater all your other numbers will be."
That's extraordinary results from ordinary things consistently done.
What To Do Now: Think of ONE project you've wanted to start - or finish - during the past year, but your perfectionism has crippled and even paralyzed your progress.
Whenever you find yourself paralyzed in a perfectionist moment, remind yourself why "Sloppy success is better than perfect mediocrity."
Here's what I have written on my PC's screen saver that assists me to blast through my perfectionist moments ... it's a declarative quote I once heard from Tony Robbins: "If I can't, I must."
