While advanced nations like the US, Japan and some countries of the EU are taking leadership roles in showing the rest of the world on how to switch to greener energy sources, developing countries like India and China should look at the models set by Japan and the West on where the investments should be routed and which areas the government should support in the research and development of alternate energies. It is also a fact that once West is ready with viable, economical and practical alternate energy resources, we could export such technologies to India, Brazil and China - these can give a much needed push to our own economies.
Also, with the current state of our poor economy, we currently need the push from these countries. However, to give you more ideas about the different sources of alternate energy available, please read below for more information. What are the specific areas that we need to focus on when we talk about developing alternate energy sources?
- Biofuels from what are known as 'super-trees and soybeans.
- Refined hydroelectric power generation
- Hydrogen fuel cells
- Further development of atomic energy plants
- Continued effort for developing solar energy photovoltaic cells.
- Focused effort on developing power from wind energy
With concerted efforts on the above areas, we can safely say that we would generate sufficient alternate energies to completely replace our requirements of oil and coal in the years to come. There is no denying that the future energy that will keep the world moving is 'green'.
