Sunday school is a time for children to learn and play together. It should be an atmosphere of acceptance, and it should promote creativity. Incorporating Bible crafts in your Sunday school curriculum is one sure way to get your students involved in what they are learning about.
Helping Hands Bible Activity
For this craft, you'll need the following for each student:
*One paper plate
*Four pieces of colored construction paper
*A marker
*A pencil
*Scissors
*A glue stick
Instruct your children's church students to draw one hand onto each half sheet of construction paper. When completed, they should have eight hands. Help the kids cut out their hands and then use a glue stick to adhere each hand onto the paper plate. Make sure that your students keep the hands as evenly placed as possible. Now instruct the Sunday school class to write "My Helping Hands" in the middle of the plate. This will be a great church craft for them to show to their families and friends at home.
Soap Bible Craft
For this Sunday school craft, you'll need:
*Black and gold felt
*Bars of soap (enough so that each child will have one)
*Glue
*Gold or yellow ribbon
Help the children's church students cut the black felt to cover the front, back, and one side of the bar of soap. Next, have the kids glue the felt to the soap. Glue the ribbon to the edges of the soap that have not been covered by black felt.
Next, explain that the students should cut out the letters B-I-B-L-E from the gold felt. Then they will glue the letters to the front of their soap Bible. When completed, your Sunday school students will have a soap Bible to show off to their parents and siblings!
These are just two of the many Bible crafts that are out there. All you need is imagination and a little bit of time, and you can come up with even more exciting crafts that will keep your Sunday school students at attention throughout class. What kid doesn't like taking a completed craft home to share with their family and friends?
