It is the voice of so many people recently, "I want to kill myself". It is the statement that reflects the emotional feeling of a growing number of people. Suicide rates have been increasing in recent years with a record number of teenagers who committed suicide in the past year. What is at the root cause of the act that ends a life? Suicide is the only decision that cannot be changed. Researchers are looking at the rise in suicide rates and are searching for answers to this dilemma.

There is a growing despair that has affected a large number of people in the past few years. We are living in times that are very unpredictable. This has taken the joy from the hearts of many people. The economic downturn is a factor but cannot be blamed for the increase in the suicide rate. For many something is missing from this life. The thought "I want to kill myself" is something that does not just appear. The growth of a deep despair that has a root in dissatisfaction is what leads to suicide. Generally many people are just not happy, they are surviving and hanging on but happiness is missing. If the seed of dissatisfaction continues to grow it can be the start of a bigger problem that can lead to suicidal thoughts.

The suicidal person must be recognized as one who is more than just not happy; the lack of joy is the beginning of the suicidal seed. At many different times in our life we may feel unhappy, we may think that something we are going through is really bad. We have periods of depression and dissatisfaction. Some how we still hold hope that things will improve. The suicidal person does not feel things will get better; it is a long struggle without an end. Suicidal thoughts are a serious matter that must be taken with the utmost urgency. The belief that the suicidal person will just get better in time is a dangerous approach to take. Many people have lost love one with this mistaken belief that things will just automatically get better. Medication and therapy can help with suicidal thoughts but will not often cure.

There is a new approach from a filmmaker that has been having great success with suicidal thoughts, it involves no doctors, and no therapy, actually the suicidal person heals alone. It is an inside-out treatment that has been helping teens and adults.
