In this day and age it is easy to get totally distracted. Some mornings I wake up and wonder where I am. Am I making any head way with my goals and dreams? Sometimes I respond yes, other times I am completely foggy about what the goals and dreams are. So, if you are in the foggy state, here are some ideas on how to get clarity.
1. Get up 45 minutes before everyone else in the household.
2. Get a pen or pencil and a notebook or something to write on.
3. Get a timer and prepare to set aside 30 minutes to get focused. If you don't have a timer set your cell phone alarm for thirty minutes.
4. Start the paragraph with: What if I had time and money to do what I want? What would I do? (3 minutes) That felt good didn't it? You took ACTION and it inspired you to dream.
5. Now, make a second list of the actions you could take that would get you closer to your dream. Make the actions easy. Such as read a book about how to do-----. Join an entrepreneurs club or any kind of group that will let you meet people that have the same dreams you do.
6. Pick one action to do this week. Put it on a note and paste the note on your mirror. While you are at it, look in the mirror and tell God all the things you are grateful for. You will come away feeling real happy.
All right, now you have a pretty good idea about what makes you happy and excited, (See #4), and you have a list of actions that you can take to get you closer to your goal.
So here is an exercise to determine if you have clarity of your purpose in life.
What if you lost your arm while you were serving your country or community? Would you be able to bring your focus back to life and your business or would you wallow in misery? Visualize what you would do. Do you believe God did this to you or that God provided you with an opportunity to meet your destiny?
How long would it take you to realize you have a choice: you can concentrate on what you had lost or what you still had left? The average entrepreneur can not stop dreaming about businesses and opportunities and always looks at what is left. Focus on that and ask yourself, what is it that I have left that I can use to be successful in meeting my dreams. The choice is yours. Focus, Follow your passion and create your day in a grand way.
Go out and take ACTION and feel good about your day. There is no tomorrow. Only today.
