This larger town is located in England in West Midlands; Solihull is another spot where you will find a lot of past history. Existing since around the medieval times it was born as a market town, later on in its history it would become a mail stop and a place for coaches to head too.
There are many Tudor style homes that are still standing and give you a great glimpse of that architecture. The school has been standing since 1560, though it's not on its original site anymore. The fabulous ST. Alphege which was built from red sandstone was also built around that time.
Passed over almost completely by the Industrial Revolution it would remain a very small market town. While it was barely touched during WWII too. Though nearby cities would suffer severe damage during those times.
Experiencing a huge growth spurt during the 1960s the town surpassed 100, 000 people. It was because many factors would open up and offer employment in the area. On high street you can see some great Victorian houses still standing.
Many famous people from the past have come from this location, they include the following. Sir David Baulcombe, Alan Cox, and Karren Brady. Plus many others that you may have heard of plus the birth place of several past famous bands.
It is here where Land Rover has its main plant to build their vehicles. Many forms of entertainment are offered in this location, plus a wide number of restaurants where you can enjoy different foods at. Don't forget to take a look at the huge spire on top of St. Alphege it stands 168 feet in the air.
