Study Technique For Tests
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Visual pictures threw basic association is a technique that helps your child recall information when taking a test. Using this studying technique for tests will help your child retain and recall information faster, getting studying done faster freeing up more time to get all the other things that needs to get done after they get home from school - homework, family time, eating dinner, extra curriculum activities, outside running and playing, bath or shower, chores, etc.

To use visual pictures I want you to think about what your child looks like. You might see the color of his/her hair, the shape of his/her eyes or nose, the color of his/her skin, and the size of his/her hands or feet. Now ask yourself did the words hair, eyes, nose, skin, hands and feet come into your thoughts or was it a visual picture of each of those features?

Do the same technique with your child when studying for a test. For example if one of the questions on their test is "What animal representation used in the U.S. as the emblem of the Republican Party" and the answer is "Elephant". Relate the Elephant to the Republican Party by using a visual picture of an Elephant sitting on the letter R. Or an Elephant holding the letter R for Republican in his trunk over his head. Or a visual picture of an Elephant holding up the Mr. George W. Bush, or sitting on Mr. George W. Bush, depending on whether you like or dislike him or the Republican Party.
