Stress, and panic attack is often a result of stress and negativity. So, it stands to reason that reducing stress and negativity in your life will lessen panic attack in both frequency and in duration, right?
In my own life I've noticed a profound difference in my levels of stress and panic attacks my incorporating some very simple changes.
Meditation may sound like a very esoteric concept to many people, but I'm hear to tell you that it's far from complicated.
It really boils down to two basic concepts relaxation and concentration. You absolutely have to master relaxation, which is a little harder than it sounds but very doable.
We hold a lot of tension in our bodies that we are unaware of until we concentrate on it.
When you have time later, sit on the edge of chair and work on assuming an upright posture. Close your eyes and begin to relax your body starting with your feet and working all the way up to your head.
Put your mind in each body part for around 30 seconds and you'll begin to realize that there is tension in some parts and not in others.
As you hold your attention in these parts of your body I want you to breathe into each body part extremely slowly. Slowly yet comfortably. Continue this mental sweep of your body and "switch off" any parts you feel.
In eastern traditions what you are doing is allowing electromagnetic energy or chi to flow freely instead of being cut off or blocked. Now you have a simple tool to begin to reduce your stress.
Warning: Meditation alone is extremely powerful, but you'll very likely not have complete control over panic attack unless you follow this next step.
