Street fighting has been around forever. People have been street fighting in schools, at the workplace, and of course, at sporting events for practically since they had fists. Even though some of the so-called gurus like to insist it requires military training or decades of martial arts practice, there are a few simple tips you can use to win just about any street fight.

The most important thing you can do on the street fight is to stay calm. This probably seems to be pretty obvious, but it's actually the hardest part. People are naturally chaotic in situations where their lives are threatened or in severe danger. The only way to get used to this, I can tell you from personal experience, is to train - spar - with your friends as much as possible. You get used to being hit under the safety of using padded gloves and helmets. When it comes to a real one-on-one confrontation, you won't be so afraid to be hit or get that sickening feeling in your stomach like acid at the mere thought of a street fight with another person of unknown skill and background.

Generally, the most rewarded quality in a street fight is your aggression. This is because most people don't have training in street fighting or any kind of martial arts sports. Therefore they don't understand how to correctly block, bob, or weave. Obviously the only problem to this is that when you're going full force against somebody in a street fight they are probably going to do the same to you. Your best bet is to try to beat them to the punch as even a stiff jab will intercept their big haymakers and neutralize their attacks.
