Stop Chasing Time and Money Wasters

Let's face it. Things are not looking so good economically. The country is in debt like you would not believe. You cannot look at the news today without seeing and reading stories of layoffs, job and budget cuts, tax increases, bankruptcies, foreclosures, homelessness, hunger, etc. And the sad thing is, there does not seem to be any let up. If we look at the stock market and the news surrounding it, it rallies if there seems to be a glimmer of hope. But every time there is the slightest bit of bad news, the market loses ground and we are back at square one. Here is the news you do not see every day:

  • U.S. National Debt - Over 13 Trillion Dollars ($13,000,000,000,000) and growing! W H A T?!?
  • Official Unemployed - Over 14 Million People and growing ($14,576,154 at the time of this writing)
  • Actual Unemployed - Over 23 Million People and growing ($23,308,443 at the time of this writing)
  • Food Stamp Recipients - Over 41 Million People and growing ($41,885,090 at the time of this writing) W O W!

And these numbers may continue to grow daily. And that's not the half of it. Let's look at some more big numbers you may not be aware of...

  • Total Personal Debt - Over 16 Trillion Dollars and growing
  • Mortgage Debt - Over 13 Trillion Dollars and growing
  • Bankruptcies - Over 1 Million

If your jaw has not dropped yet, these next numbers should take it off it's hinges:

  • U.S. Total Debt - Over 53 Trillion Dollars and growing!!
  • U.S. Unfunded Liabilities - Over 110 Trillion Dollars and growing!!

These numbers are staggering. And with the way things are going, they will get worse before they get better. The questions to ask are, "Is this affecting me now?" More than likely, a resounding YES! We are all affected by this. We are all factored into these figures. Next, "Is there anything I can do to change at least my own vulnerability?" Possibly. If so, how?

Look at the facts. Many people are looking for ways to save, cut expenses and generate more income. These factors are driving many back to school. Getting an education is great and everyone should. The issue is that while an education is important in learning the basics of dealing with life, it does not properly prepare one for creating success and wealth. That must be developed by learning from those who have achieved it. When was the last time you saw a textbook on success?

Many others look at creating success and wealth through real estate. This is a major way to do so but is can require major capital. As land becomes more expensive because the lack of availability, it is becoming much more difficult to use this as a vehicle to wealth. Then there are franchises. This is a great thing to own. Still, it can cost thousands to acquire one. It will also take require 12 to 16 hours days, six to seven days a week to make it profitable, if at all. So there is no freedom to be had for years.

Then we have the get rich quick schemes. They have been around for decades. The most widely known one is the chain letter that you send $1 to $5 to the five names on the letter, place your name on the list, drop the last one off, then mail hundreds or thousands to a mailing list and hope to have the same amount sent to you by hundreds and thousands before your name finally gets dropped off. Now we have taken it online. You give $5 to $25 or even $100 to join a programs that offers e-books or and online shopping mall. You then pay a monthly fee to earn weekly or monthly commissions. You then get others to do the same. You are promised a percentage or dollar amount from those in your group. Promises of tens of thousands a month are made. But the best part is that this is a one time buy in. Your monthly fee comes out of your commissions after that.

All of this seems so easy and effortless and could explode if propagated widely. Here is the simple problem. If you stop putting money in because your commissions pays the monthly fee, and everyone else does the same, where does the money that everyone receives come from? If you guessed the new people, you are correct! This my friend is what is called a pyramid scheme. And today's clever creators of these programs offer valueless products like the e-books and online malls in an attempt to legitimize it. E-books can be found online free. online malls are a dime a dozen, so why would anyone want to visit or trust purchasing from my cheap looking mock up mall? Not to mention that these malls have stores like Wal-Mart and Target. So do I really want to pay shipping and wait for a week to ten days for an item I can get right now from my neighborhood Wal-Mart? I think not.

There must be a better way. Yes, there are several. You can inherit a fortune. You can win the lottery. You can win a sweepstakes like Publisher's Clearing House. Good luck with those by the way. Or you can get involved in a company that has a business model that has been creating millionaires for over 50 years. This business model that is part of the Direct Selling Association is Network Marketing.

What? Yuck! "Isn't that like Amway?" "Isn't that a pyramid scheme?" "I have a friend that lost money in that!" Sounds familiar? The fact is, while companies like Amway and Pre-Paid Legal use Network Marketing to distribute their products and services, Network Marketing IS NOT a company, it is a method of distribution. It has created phenomenal wealth and success and changed the lives of thousands. It is one of few vehicles in today's economy that a person can use to build additional weekly/monthly income. And it can be done affordably by anyone. Yes, anyone!

For less than $100 in most cases, anyone can generate an income to pay a monthly car note, mortgage payment or rent payment. Many go on to generate a four to six figure income. And some even create lifestyles others only dream of. Whatever your goal is, you can do it with Network Marketing. Too many others have done it for more that 50 years. Books have been written about it. Newspapers and magazines have done stories on the people involved and products offered. Just this year companies such as Nu Skin Enterprises was featured in Forbes, Investors Business Daily, Bloomberg Television, Women's Wear Daily and Happi Magazine. They have been around for over 25 years. Sales went from $1.2 Billion in 2006 to $1.33 Billion in 2009.

Check out the industry. Do your research. Do the numbers. After due diligence you will find that Network Marketing is unlike any other successful business model. Like anything else worthwhile, it requires effort. But you can grow personally, socially, financially and have a great time, all at the same time!
