Although this is a common cause of bloating, treating this can be quite difficult and it would be a good idea to discuss it with your doctor before trying home remedies or over the counter treatments. Also known as IBS, its symptoms would include constipation, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

To soothe the symptoms, one can use peppermint tea or peppermint oil capsules, but consult a physician on the treatments. Probiotic drinks, as well as yogurt are also helpful in providing good bacteria for your stomach.

Stress

Just as stress can affect sleeping patterns, eating patterns and other aspects in your daily routine, it too can affect your abdominal bloating. Basically it's not really the link between stress and the digestive system; rather it's the link between emotions and the digestive system.

Instead of having a pig out session when you're feeling stressed, try some breathing exercises that promote relaxation, or instead of spending your money on food, spend it on a relaxing time at the spa. After all, you're not really hungry - it's just a way to cope with all the stress you're going through.

When you're anxious or nervous chewing gum can give you the same result - a bloated stomach. And here's another tip you might want to remember: drinking through straws can bring more air into your stomach causing it to bloat.

So whichever may be your "bloating trigger", just remember it always to keep you from stomach bloating. It's not a pretty sight, and you will feel a lot better without it - both inside and out!
