Some days it isn't all that easy being a Blogger and a Student at University. It is true that you get a lot more time and freedom than you would going to high school or primary school, more time which before was spent wasted. Most bloggers have a daily schedule and can use an entire day into doing their research, updating their Blog and focusing on updating and upgrading other areas of their Blogs, I have somehow managed to squeezing it into a few hours. Blogging part time offers me a wide variety of advantages, which enables me to carry on doing so besides the time consuming part of my life.
My Daily Regime
*Wake Up and Get Ready for the day
*Check statistics, e-mails and any comments on my Blogs and depending on the amount, reply to them
*Go to University (2-5 Hours per day, usually one day off a week)
*Home by mid-afternoon where I do my research and write an article and also do about an hour of promotion/marketing (2.5 Hours)
*Socialise in the evening
Throughout the day I use my iPhone to read RSS feeds, do research and make notes / voice clips for new material.
Weekends are a different matter, most of the two days are spent doing research and writing articles which I schedule for days throughout the week where I might not have enough time to work on an article.
Monetary Plus Side
Money is not the side of Blogging which attracts me to it, Blogging is a passion and directing yourself down the Blogging route just for money will end up in failure. When people entering to simply make money don't realise the intensity and need for new products and information, I spend a lot of time reading other Blogs and researching products surrounding my niche. The time I spend researching products more often than not helps me to write a review or write an article which I can use to help people, I read everything from newspapers to weird Blogs, they may not all be in the niche that I am Blogging for at the time but they all somehow give me inspiration. This inspiration in turn gives me the motivation to Blog almost every single day and be good at it bringing in a decent income.
Better use of Time
I bet you can all put your own definition or description on a University Student? Smelly, lazy, cheap, party animal, whatever the case we all go through it at University, primarily the first year, but there comes a point when you get to old for it and it takes it out of you. In my first year at University if I was not in University or out socialising I would be just watching TV or eating or sleeping, now I can channel my thoughts and write about things I enjoy on a Blog and feel better in myself.
Learn New Things and Improve Writing
At University I am studying Business and Information Technology, therefore I am good with computers and I have a business mind, but one thing I have never really excelled in was English and writing. With a Blog I am writing almost every day and reading new material all the time, through time from since I started my first Blog and posting on it, I can see a vast improvement. I believe this improvement is due to picking up techniques and a new style when reading other established Blogs and also 'practise makes perfect' - except I am far from perfect, I will be the first to admit that. Not only from reading these Blogs and writing new articles almost daily do I see an improvement in my writing, but I also feel more knowledgeable and take in more things. Reading new things, which you wouldn't have spent 10 minutes or so on before has taught me so much and filled my brain up with new facts and information.
Overall I love Blogging and part time Blogging is easy, I just go to show how easy it is, one example of people I would like to inspire is mothers - they can easily start a Blog and gain an income and happiness from writing online. Part time Blogging is very easy, but not so easy when you have a full schedule at University and final exams and coursework!
