Starcraft 2 Strategy - Counter Protoss Cannon Rush With Zerg

Well, you are probably experiencing some cheese with the protoss cannon rush as he's building units at your ramp. There are some things that you can do in order to counter this and you can start today!

One thing you definitely want to make sure is the simple fact that he can not build on your creep. So one thing that you want to do if you sense this is coming is to expand your creep and make sure they can not build the structures at your creep.

Make Sure you Are Scouting Your Opponent Correctly
This step is very critical as you want to make sure that you are investigating what's going on around you, including the ramp of your base in which your opponent may be building their potential cannon rush.

When you see that there is a structure warping in (it's probably a pylon and a photon cannon), you want to make sure that you surround it with your workers and destroy the pylon immediately. His supply cap will be screwed up and you'll definitely have a big time economic advantage.

If Your Opponent Gets it Down
You are simply going to want to realize that his economy is probably complete trash. He has closed off your ramp so that you can not bring in any ground troops for the time being. A simple way to counter this is simply to realize his minimal forces, and get a few mutalisks to fly over and harass your opponent.

You can also try out the nydus worm to harass, and to also build a second hatchery so that you can have better unit production, and you are going to need that second hatchery to surpass your unit in production.

You can also use your overlords to increase both supply count and to scout out your opponent, but if you prevent him from expanding, you are pretty well in economic terms and you are even better because you can go ahead and try to destroy his mineral line while he is trying to do some lame cheesy rush on you.

So don't do anything crazy and rush the cannons, just be patient, tech up to mutalisk and own your opponent.
