Star Wars Merchandise - Where to Buy
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Everyone remembers the Star Wars toys and action figures they played with as children. Many of us have children of our own that are now just discovering it. Due to the high demand for the merchandise, toys are continuously produced and sold worldwide. Many collectors however don't like the modern toys, and want the older ones from their childhood.

This is understandable as these older toys were made from hardened plastic and die cast metal. Star Wars toys today are made from plastics, and very few if any metal parts. While this makes them more durable against children, and allows for more flexibility, they simply lack the magic of the older toys. After all when the toys moved less it required you to use your imagination more.

This aside there are many places you can go to find these toys both new and old. The main place that most people go is the internet. There are numerous online auction sites and marketplaces such as eBay and Amazon that offer many toys for lower prices. Of course the condition of the items is also varied depending on how well they were taken care of.

Another source of Star Wars toys is major retailers, although the selection at these vendors is mainly limited to newer items. You can still find them at specialty shops and many home owned toy collection stores. But these are mainly mom and pop shops and aren't national store chains. However it can be worth it to make the trip to another state and find one of these sanctuaries.

Many dedicated collectors will often pay two to three times more than the original asking price in order to own an original Darth Vader action figure, or a mint condition Tie Fighter. You can also try community groups in your town, or online in order to track down these toys. Another place that you might get lucky is someone's garage sale. Often people are just trying to clean out their attics and they sell many things at very low prices.

There are some people who will drive around an entire state to find garage sales that have these toys in order to see if they can add to their collections. Some people say that this borders on obsession but others argue that it's no different from collecting anything else. Regardless these toys provide a great amount of enjoyment and entertainment to people old and young alike. As to whether these toys will be played with or not is another story.

Some view these toys as something never to be opened, but to be displayed on a wall or in a display case. Many others open the packaging and simply pose them on shelves, or in glass cases. Many adults refuse to let their children play with these because of their historical value. Some of these toys have sold in excess of forty thousand dollars online, but these are rare events.

Regardless of your interest level, Star Wars collectibles can be found all over the globe. You can search online, at garage sales, or at specialty shops. Their condition is varied and many are not new. Still for many it's simply worth it to have them displayed on their shelves.
