Sports Betting Is Easy

Most people lose money when they bet on sports and have no idea why they lose. I know exactly why they lose. It is the same reason I used to lose, and the same reason I win now.

There is only one thing that is really important. A Golden Rule for sports betting. By applying the principle to your own betting, you will win over time. There can be no other outcome.

So what is the Golden Rule of sports betting? Never place a bet that does not provide for you a known and proven situational edge of at least 53%. As long as every bet you place has at least that probability of a positive outcome for you, you will win money betting it.

There is only one caution to betting an edge that warrants a mention. If you are going to exploit an edge, it is best to bet every game you have the opportunity to bet on using it. If you have a known edge based on a point spread or some other situation and only bet half the games, you may as well be flipping a coin.

The edge only exists when it includes every possible game that took place in the situation. Skipping half the games will effectively remove the edge and leave you relying on luck. That's a sure way to lose.

Sports betting is easy. Find a proven edge, find the games that provide it, then bet them to the fullest extent possible. That's what the winners do to win, and not doing it is why losers lose.
