Spam Emails - How to Deal With the Nuisance

Spam mails are a frustrating one for every user who are genuinely working all the day. These are the nuisance created by some jobless people. Opening or clicking the spam mails is dangerous. Here are some tips to deal with the spam emails.

* You could have noticed pop up messages and forms while browsing the internet. These pop up messages that claim to offer you something free should be neglected. If you fill in the form providing your details, then you are sure to get spam mails in future. Do not provide your personal details especially, email address in unsecured sites and internet chat rooms. Do not include your e-mail address while posting news groups.

* Check whether your e-mail address is posted in any of the forums. Just enter your e-mail id in Google or any of the popular search engines and click the search button. If your mail address is any where internet, you will come to know of it. Immediately, try to remove it otherwise it may be a root cause for getting spam mails regularly.

* Most of the spam mails come with false offers claiming that 'you have won a lottery'. Never open such mails and delete it immediately. Accidentally, if you have opened it, do not proceed further to click the links provided in the mail. This is more dangerous than opening it. This is the high time for the spammers to catch you. Your personal details may be stolen or you may be forced to download malicious software. In case, if you are continuously receiving spam mails in your email address, then deactivate that id and create another fresh mail id.

* Have two different mail ids if you are browsing the net frequently or buying products regularly online. Never disclose the personal mail id in the internet. Personal use mail address should be given to your friends and family circle only.

* You can register complaint with the postmaster at the spammer's ISP. Most of the spammers do not provide the correct return address, still some time you will be able to locate the ISP from the email header. Some email programs will allow you to gather these details by right clicking the message and locate it in the properties option.

* Never reply to the spam messages. This is the common mistake done by many. If you ignore it and delete it, the spam messages will stop coming to your inbox or spam box. The spammers will switch over to some other person as you are ignoring his/her spam mail.
