If you are like many people trying to live a healthier life then you are probably drinking bottled water. Hopefully you have read or seen a story or two about how many plastic bottles are being used because of the new trend of drinking bottled water.
In fact, it has become a multibillion dollar business and is arguable the fastest growing segment of the beverage industry. It also happens to be the most profitable of all the beverages on the market.
It is also becoming one of the most polluting industries in the U.S.A. The plastic bottles that are generated from water are put back into landfills. Cities like Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Chicago have jumped on a "ban bottled water" campaign making it illegal to spend city dollars on these due to their harmful environmental impact.
I remember hearing that bottled water was virtually the same as tap water and that there are no government standards that require bottled water to be any better, purer or safer than tap water. And after I did some research on how bad some tap water can be this can be scary for anyone.
I did my research because I had elevated levels of lead in my water. I found out that there are many things in water besides lead that I need to be concerned about for my family's health. I found one report that said they found over 2,100 different toxic chemicals across the country in water supplies that were supposedly clean.
From all the information that I found, I decided that my family should use a filtration system to ensure that we get the highest quality of water that we could to live a healthy lifestyle. My advice to anyone is to sit down and establish a budget and do the research before you make any purchase.
